Read Full ArticleSpectus has gone boldly into a commercial refurbishment project and supplied 200 casement windows for the refurbishment of the landmark Redbrick Mill department store in Batley, West Yorkshire.
Redbrick Mill is home to forty furniture and interiors brands who occupy the former steam powered woollen mill built in the 1860s. It was first launched as a retail outlet by a local textile entrepreneur in 2000.

The manufacture and installation of the casements was awarded to Batley based Jade Windows which is familiar with projects for the commercial sector.

All 200 windows measured 3 metre x 3 metre with arched frames to replicate the building’s original timber frames. They were manufactured in anthracite grey (on both the outer and inner faces) with Georgian bar detailing to match the industrial heritage of the project.
Jade Windows used the Spectus bevelled system which can achieve a Window Energy Rating of Band A++ and U-values as low as 0.8W/(m2K).
